    About This Opportunity

    This database engineering role will report out of InComm's IAS (InComm Agent Solutions) Office and will provide support to production databases. 

     

    IAS represents the cutting-edge of payment processing, offering customers an innovative proprietary platform that allows consumers to make cash payments to an ever-expanding roster of service providers. Custom designed from the ground-up, the IAS platform can be run concurrently at multiple sites to give increased resilience and complete service reliability. Plus, each interface can be customized to meet the unique needs of any retailer or service partner. This architecture allows each agent to be implemented, operated, and managed separately from one another, while optimizing the processing capacities for each.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Work effectively alone and in a team environment with quality and timely results
    • Continue to manage high volume production databases
    • Continuously monitor the production DB for performance and operational excellence
    • Foster a strong partnership with Development, Business Analysts, Product Owners and Account Managers
    • Create complex SQL queries and understand SQL scripts
    • Parse, analyze and understand system log files
    • Customer Service orientation with the ability to effectively interact with users of all levels
    • Proactively address system issues that have potential impact for the corporation
    • Plan solutions and coordinate with the development team
    • Assure that any fixes follow the CAB process
    • Engage in production deployment for coordination and verification as the owner of the production DB
    • Create and maintain documentation of the DB, such as the Data Model, Table Names, playbooks, escalation procedures and any others that become necessary
    • Create the current state of the DB that will be used as an artifact for future development and troubleshooting

    Qualifications

     

    • 5 years of experience in a DBA role doing production support 
    • 5 years experience with Database Administration for MSSQL Server including experience with replication, mirroring, and high volume production databases 
    • 5 years experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems
    • 5 years experience in performance tuning and optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
    • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
    • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server
    • Experience in implementing operational automation using scrips
    • Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics
    • Experience working with Windows Server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
