    About This Opportunity

    The Senior Analyst, Indirect Tax is primarily responsible for sales and use tax, property tax, gross receipt tax compliance and sales tax exemption. Property tax compliance involves data gathering and analysis, return filings and tax payments.  The Senior Analyst also supports sales & use tax audits, property tax research, monitors state tax legislation, maintains tax calendars, researches state tax issues and reconciles indirect tax monthly accruals.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Prepares transaction tax (sales/use, business & occupation, gross receipts, and property tax) returns for monthly, quarterly and annual filings of returns on a timely and accurate basis.
    • Ensures all tax payments are made in a timely fashion.
    • Track a monthly filing and payment calendar.
    • Performs monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliation.
    • Research transaction tax issues. 
    • Interpret and comply with state, local and international statutes, regulations, and legislation. 
    • Prepare for, and assist with, transaction tax audits. 
    • Prepare and/or review indirect tax filings for all related companies. 
    • Provide guidance based on research of transaction tax laws and regulations. 
    • Assist with the reconciliation of transaction tax general ledger accounts. 
    • Project Manager of Resale/Exemption certificate program CertCapture/
    • Handle inbound/customer calls regarding sales tax exempt status and respond to fax, mail and email communication. 
    • Develop and implement process improvements. 
    • Complies with all internal controls.
    • Complete assigned tax accounting reports (journal entries and account reconciliation, etc.).
    • Respond to inquiries from States and other tax authorities in a timely and thorough manner.
    • Responsible for maintaining tax files.

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
    • A minimum of two - three years of Sales and Use Tax work experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong teamwork and analytical skills, and close attention to detail preferred.
    • Has attended IPT Sales Tax School or Property Tax School a plus. 
    • Has obtained or currently pursuing CMI 
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Must be a quick learner, self-motivated and self-starter. Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
