    About This Opportunity

    OLS is looking for a SQL Server Database Administrator with high volume OLTP (online transaction processing) database experience to manage the performance of our environment.  This person will manage all of the data behind the activations and transactions being processed through our platform.  Someone who comes from a high performance database environment who has experiencre with high-availability clustering, multi-tenant databases, and implementing disaster recovery capabilities will be best suited for this position.

    • Installation, configuration and support of all SQL Server databases, including service packs and security patches
    • Ensuring the performance and availability of all SQL Server databases, including security and recoverability.
    • Proactively monitor databases to ensure maximum performance and availability
    • Work with project teams throughout software development lifecycle to optimize performance, indexes, and SQL Query design
    • Implementation of all database changes as a result of application releases and/or changes
    • Implementation and maintenance of all backups, log-shipping, and data replication processes
    • Analysis of transaction processing, transaction response times, and overall database performance management
    • Daily, monthly, and quarterly database management checklists


    • 3 to 5 years experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator

    • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

    • Advanced TSQL Scripting experience is required
    • Experience in a high-availability Windows and SQL Clustered environment is required
    • Experience with monitoring and tuning Microsoft SQL Server databases for maximum performance and availablility
    • Experience in trouble-shooting and diagnosing SQL Server, SQL Query, and other issue that may arise
    • Experience with database monitoring tools such as Quest Lightspeed and Quest Spotlight highly desired
    • Experience with Shared Storage, Storage Area Networks, ISCSI and multi-path IO configurations highle desired
    • Experience with SQL Server high availability configurations, disaster recovery, and log shipping highly desirable
    • Self Starter with willingness to take ownership to continuously improve performance, processes and documentation
    • Ability to work off-hours and weekends as required and participate in an on-call rotation
    • Stong communication skills, both oral and written
