  • Create, maintain and support all databases environments includes development, testing, pre-prod and production, etc...
  • Develop, support, and communicate core database engineering policies, standards, guidelines and procedures
  • Perform capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases.
  • Establish proper monitoring, measuring and reporting of service performance against Service Level Objectives, customer satisfaction, financial efficiencies and ensure maximum uptime of the database
  • Improve, optimize, and identify opportunities for improved software development processes
  • Install and configure Clustered and standalone SQL Server instances in all environments including but not limited to development, QA and Production
  • Responsible for supporting the SQL Server databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security.
  • Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system.
  • Work with the team to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability and optimum performance.
  • To proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
  • Responsible for providing trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
  • Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include Deployments and upgrades.
  • Responsible for implementation and release of database changes as submitted by the development team
  • Responsible for security and non-security patches based on company approved maintenance schedules
  • Provides technical support to application development teams. The DBA is usually the point of contact for all Oracle related requests
  • Enforces and maintains database constraints to ensure integrity of the database.
  • Administers all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures.
  • Assists with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects.
  • Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools.
  • Create new database users as required.
  • Manage sharing of resources amongst applications.


  • Proven 5-7 years of SQL Server Database Administration role managing highly transactional OLTP databases in a 24 x7 environment.
  • 1-2 years of MySQL experience is a plus
  • Experience of working in a team that delivers a high availability service
  • Experience of SQL Server cluster installation, maintenance and support
  • Experience in SQL server upgrade/migration
  • Experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.
  • Experience in managing the internal and external SQL Server database security
  • Experience in Transact SQL development, especially in stored procedure and views
  • Good hands-on experience in Log shipping and AlwaysOn setup, monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in transactional replication and any 3rd party replication tools like GoldeGate, Attunity is a plus
  • Experience in CDC (Change Data Capture) configuration will be a plus
  • Experience working in Windows Server environments including Windows 2012 R2
  • Experience in PowerShell scripting is a plus
  • Ability to follow all company policies and procedures as well as internal departmental procedures to ensure consistency in systems
  • Ability to investigate and assess issues to make certain the correct solution is implemented 
  • Willingness to take ownership for own work to continuously improve performance
  • Hands-on experience on relational database ER model design
  • Experience supporting 24X7 production environments
  • Document standard procedures, problems resolutions and environment modifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good written and verbal communication skill
  • Maintain high standards of work and composure in challenging situations
  • Experience with key database modeling tools
  • Continuously educate to stay informed of recent advances and problems
  • Other duties as assigned by management
