About This Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a passion for DevOps and System Engineering. As an Engineer on the Windows/.NET platform team, you’ll participate in the design, implementation, rollout, and maintenance of tools and applications critical to the platform. You will bridge the gap between product, development, and infrastructure by providing expertise on .NET frameworks, physical and virtual Windows servers, continuous delivery, monitoring/metrics systems, and automation frameworks. This candidate has the capacity to work with cross-functional operations and development scrum teams throughout each phase of the software lifecycle.

 

This position is located in our St. Petersburg, FL office. 

Responsibilities

  • Utilize a wide range of technologies to automate infrastructure, improve system reliability and optimize continuous integration.
  • Deployment, support, and monitoring of new platforms and applications stacks.
  • Responsible for product availability, rapid recovery, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning.
  •  Ensure compliance with security standards, especially PCI and SAS 70, and assist in audit preparations.
  • Participant as escalation point for 7x24 operations support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required Skills
    • Strong Windows Platform Engineering Skills with DevOps mindset.
    • Experience with Active Directory Group Policy Recommended Practices.
    • A mindset, and capability, of automating repetitive tasks.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills; interaction with Service Operations and Developers, making presentations to internal users and management.
    • Experience with enterprise configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
    • Strong background in web technologies such as IIS, Jboss.
    • Independent problem-solving, self-direction.  Ability to meet commitments and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic fast paced environment.
    • Strong working knowledge of Windows administration: system installation, configuration and tuning, networking, logging, security fundamentals, and installation and integration of third-party software.
    • Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, web application security, subnetting and routing concepts, and experience in multi-tier web application architectures. 
  • Key Qualifications
    • 5 to 7 years proven experience managing midrange infrastructure, systems administration and troubleshooting.
    • 3+ years proven experience with automation activities used to manage and support midrange infrastructure operations.
    • BA/BS degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Desirable Background and Skills
    • Experience working in an Agile environment.
    • Familiarity with message brokering and key/value caching technologies.
    • Familiarity with PCI DSS.
