About This Opportunity

The Accounting Clerk contributes in a significant way to the processing of IDS’ daily, weekly and monthly billing responsibilities, with emphasis on the new IDS AMEX Company/Channel. Based in Portland, Oregon, this position is primary responsibility for generating and reconciling timely and accurate data into the accounting systems. This position will work closely with various internal and external parties, and reports directly to the IDS Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Follow documented procedures for accounting operations including updating and maintaining information tables to ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy for assigned accounts on two IDS Oracle Ledgers and the corresponding interim QuickBooks ledgers
  • Process monthly journal entries to ensure accurate general ledger reporting and intercompany balancing
  • Prepare assigned balance sheet reconciliations and all supporting schedules; ensure all account balances are properly evidenced
  • Assist in extracting information from the various systems and platforms required to perform data analyses to ensure all activity is captured and accounted for according to GAAP
  • Analyze transactional revenue and cost data to ensure appropriate general ledger coding and accuracy
  • Process monthly journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting and intercompany balancing
  • Analyze and manipulate detailed transactional data from internal software systems for upload into accounting systems
  • Interact with internal customers to resolve any accounting issues and provide information
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associates, BA or BS degree preferred
  • Basic understanding of double-entry accounting
  • Must be detail oriented and strive for 100% accuracy
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently or part of a team
  • Experience in Quickbooks and/or Oracle accounting information systems preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
