About This Opportunity

The Bentonville office intern will have responsibility for general office administration and will shadow team members on a rotating basis, doing projects as assigned.  The intern will spend at least one week with each team member in Category, Account Management, Replenishment, Launch Management and Sales Support, learning what they do in their day-to-day roles and taking on specific projects/tasks.  The intern will gain an understanding of the roles on a typical vendor team and learn vendor basics – what is expected in doing business with Walmart and Sam’s Club.  The intern will be exposed to InComm’s business across Walmart,, Sam’s Club and


  • Walmart/Sam’s Club team member role rotations
    • Shadow team members daily during each role rotation.  The intern will attend internal meetings, conference calls, and learn the typical tasks each team member performs in his or her position. 
    • Special projects – complete special projects as assigned during each rotation.  Projects may include business/sales analysis, presentations, comp-shopping, inventory & replenishment analysis, .com item review/clean-up, data entry, database maintenance, marketing analysis, organization of card samples, etc.  We anticipate the intern will complete multiple small projects versus one big project.
  • Office administration
    • Man front desk, greet visitors, accept deliveries, bring deliveries to team members/inform team-members that they have packages (daily)
    • Order office supplies – Sam’s Club & Office Depot (2-3x/month)
    • Pick-up office supplies – Sam’s Club (2-3x/month)
    • Stock office supplies (daily)
    • Report maintenance issues to appropriate party (contact property management, copier repair service, etc.) (infrequent – as needed)
    • Coordination and communication on team and office events – Susan G. Koemen, Spirit Week, Halloween trick-or-treating, holiday decorating, holiday luncheon, Toys for Tots drive, etc.  Some duties shared with office ERC (employee relations committee) members and other team members who volunteer to participate.  (5-6x/year)
    • Pick-up cupcakes for monthly birthday celebration (monthly)
    • Order and/or pick-up supplies and/or lunch for meetings (infrequent – as needed)
  • Perform occasional store visits for merchandising, card testing, etc.
  • Complete ad hoc requests, coordinate and manage special projects as assigned.
  • Other administrative tasks and responsibilities as assigned.


  • Enrollment in NWACC Certified Retail Analyst program or pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree
  • 3.0 GPA and above
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Students work a minimum of 20 hours per week (4+ hours daily)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks and demands in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication at all levels.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to manage expectations and develop strong working relationships with customers both inside and outside the organization.
  • Positive attitude and an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, self-prioritizing work load in a fast paced, team-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to listen attentively and respond effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software. Retail Link and Data Sync experience are a plus.
