About This Opportunity

The main purpose of this position is to lead in the formation, execution and maturity of a COE (Center of Excellence) within the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO). This role will partner with IT/Business/Finance to institutionalize the Governance and Information Management framework, within InComm, by providing the following services and functions:

  • Developer, documenter, and repository of a standard methodology
  • Project management consulting center
  • Resource evaluator
  • A competency center
  • Leader in continuous improvement
  • Provide a seat of governing responsibility for project management

Responsibilities

Process Improvement: 

  • Ensure real business value through project, business and strategic alignment.
  • Ensure uniform application of best practice across all teams.
  • Implement a consistent set of tools and processes for projects.
  • Maximize resource allocation, particularly of high value resources.
  • Provide mentoring and training across the organization.
  • Provide subject matter expertise (SME) for all PPM related tools.

 

Budget & Resource Management:

  • Introduce new processes, methodologies, techniques, templates, capabilities and tools to support Demand and Resource management.
  • Develop a system for capturing time spent on both capital expenditure and operational expenditure for the Information Technology division of InComm.
  • Serve as a source of information on cross-functional project resource conflicts or synergies.
  • Validate business assumptions about projects as to people, costs, and time.
  • Responsible for data integrity in the PPM Tool resource center for all InComm resources.

 

Governance (Project and Portfolio):

  • Serve as the lead in strengthening the EPMO’s Governance practice.
  • Ensure Governance and compliance of agreed project management processes, policies and procedures by users of the InComm PPM Tool.
  • Periodically review quality of key governance documents and of project deliverables.
  • Monitor project and program intake to ensure adherence to agreed enterprise standards and benchmarks.

 

Training and Knowledge Management:

  • Create and maintain Enterprise Document Library and SharePoint Knowledge Base.
  • Creating training materials for project managers, resource managers, and team members based on Microsoft Project Online/Project server
  • Perform Training (Classroom and Online/Webex) and System Walkthroughs as required as part of on-boarding new staff into the EPMO.
  • “as needed” basis and annually training for resource managers on how to use the system developed in Microsoft Project Online.
  • “as needed” basis and annually training for project managers on how to use Microsoft Project Online and Microsoft Project Professional.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in Project/Program Management.
  • 5+ years of experience in Microsoft Enterprise tools (Project Server/Online, SharePoint, O365).
  • Microsoft certifications for either Microsoft Project Server/Project Online and Microsoft Project Professional required.
  • Experience with business support software applications such as MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Visio, and Access), SharePoint and Project Server required.
  • PMP certification or equivalent, preferred.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred.
  • Strong project management leadership, facilitation, negotiation, team coaching and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry best practices, with regard to program and project management principles, tools and software development.
