About This Opportunity

Incomm is looking for a driven Director of Network Engineering who can act as a leader for the network engineering team. This individual will be responsible for prioritization of projects within the team, interfacing with customers, and providing technical leadership on the long-term network strategy.  The Director of Network Engineering will also be the networking team’s conduit with peer infrastructure services teams serving an active role in assuring cross functional vision and priority alignment within an Agile environment.  

Responsibilities

  • Will lead teams on Network evaluation and proof of concept engagements.
  • Responsible for driving improvements requested by network operations peers which require engineering resources.
  • Will work with peer network teams and take part in regular network-centric disaster recovery testing in accordance with any internal operational procedures, while accurately maintaining any associated documentation.
  • Technical familiarity with LAN, WLAN, WAN, Firewalls, and load balancing is required.
  • Sufficient industry experience serving in a similar role is also critical as a candidate.
  • Prior experience in a network focused architectural role is very beneficial.
  • Will be responsible for vendor relationship management inclusive of equipment and telecommunications vendors.
  • Candidate will be responsible for efficiency improvements through driving network standards and supporting documentation.
  • Will be responsible for tracking the engineering team’s work progress and providing reporting in an Agile manner.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of network infrastructure operations and engineering experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing a network engineering team.
  • Extensive experience managing a technical group of engineers / architects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are critical – the ability to effectively interact and influence a wide variety of individuals at all varying technical or functional levels is essential.
  • Experience in Financial Services or other regulated industry sectors is preferred, but not essential.
  • Practical experience in network design, including the use of dynamic routing protocols, QoS principles and high availability configuration options.
  • Experience in Cisco switching & routing, firewall technologies and basic IT security principles.
  • Experience in audit, risk management and regulatory compliance (PCI and HIPPA) as it relates to network infrastructure. 
  • Ability to provide an interface with peer audit teams.
